The note recycler consists of an:

Acceptance module

Cash box
One or two recycling modules
Optional loading module
2.3.1
Acceptance module
If the two insertion LEDs are green [1], the note validator/recycler is ready to
process banknotes inserted into the insertion slot [2]. In the acceptance
module [3], the banknotes pass sensors checking their material, properties and
dimensions. When the banknote properties do not correspond to the property
values programmed in this recycler, the banknote is returned through this same
slot [2] by default while the two top status LEDs are flashing green [1]. When the
banknote properties accord with the values programmed, the banknote is
transported to either one of the recycling modules [4] (if available) or the cash
box [5].
Depending on the individual validator/recycler configuration, only some instead of
all banknotes of a currency are supposed to be accepted. Some of them can be
disabled and will not be accepted.
The acceptance module bundler can temporarily collect and bundle up to
15 accepted banknotes of a current transaction. The host machine can thus decide
on either returning the bundled banknotes or transporting them to the cash box
following an appropriate command depending on a transaction cancellation or the
note recycler's change stock for instance.
2.3.2

Recycling module(s) (note recycler only)

The recycling modules [1] temporarily store banknotes, which are supposed to be
paid out as change to your next customers through the recycler's payout slot [2].
The two payout LEDs [3] are then flashing green. The note recycler is able to pay
out a bundle of up to 15 notes. Excess banknotes stored in the recycling modules
can be transferred to the cash box [4] for permanent storage. In case, a recycling
module is full, banknotes are transferred to the cash box automatically.
The upper recycling module is labeled A [5], the lower module is labeled B (see
module front label in Fig. 19).
Most of the applications require a minimum change stock to remain in the recycling
module(s) for the next day. This minimum stock varies depending on the recycler
customization and integration choices. It will not be transferred to the cash box
when the recycling module is empty to this defined level.
Depending on the change demand, the note recycler has one, two or even three
recycling modules. One recycling cassette is able to recycle up to 90 banknotes of
one or two different denominations. A note recycler with two recycling cassettes
thus allows flexible recycling of 180 banknotes of one to four different
denominations, a note recycler with three recycling cassettes even 270 of one to
six denominations.
