Procedure 13 provides some troubleshooting examples for the MEARI.

Troubleshooting for the MEARI
1 Make sure that the ACM power supply is connected to the telephone and
plugged into a working AC outlet.
2 Make sure that the MEARI is completely inserted and the release latch is
engaged.
3 If using the RJ12 jack, make sure that the modular cord contains six wires. If
using the 2.5mm or 3.5mm jacks, make sure that the plugs are fully inserted.
