M3900 series general description

Purpose

This chapter introduces you to the M3900 series digital telephones.

Introduction

The M3900 sets provide integrated voice and data communication. The
M3900 sets communicate with the Meridian SL-100 switch through
digital transmission over standard twisted-pair wiring.
The five models of the M3900 series telephones include the M3901,
M3902, M3903, M3904, and M3905. Each of the M3900 sets have
specific characteristics and support features using the following keys:
fixed feature
programmable line/feature (self-labeled)
programmable feature (self-labeled)
context sensitive softkeys

Minimum firmware requirements

The M3900 Release 3 telephone sets supported on the Meridian
SL-100 require the following Release 3 firmware:
M3902 Firmware version 8.0
M3903 Firmware version 8.0
M3904 Firmware version 8.2
M3905 Firmware version 8.1
For information about how to obtain the latest firmware files, see
"Features, firmware, and software management" on page
Note: If you are using the Full Duplex Handsfree accessory with the
M3904, the minimum firmware version is 8.3.
Due to several improvements made with M3900 Release 3 firmware
and XPM 17, when you upgrade sites to XPM 17 all M3900 telephones
