Care and maintenance

General faults

If the equipment is no longer operating properly,
please consult your Leica representative.
Fault
The microscope tilts when you press
the "All Brakes" button.
The microscope cannot be moved or
moved only with a great deal of effort.
Functions cannot be operated with the
footswitch or the control on the CAN
handles.
No light in the microscope.
The image remains unfocussed.
The microscope or the swing arm moves
up/down or rotates by itself.
Microscope and swing arm are difficult
to move or cannot be moved at all.

Cause
The swing arm is not correctly
balanced.
A cable is sticking.
Leica M525 OH4 locked.
A cable connection has come loose.
Incorrect assignment entered at control
unit.
The fiber optic cable has come loose.
Main illumination and/or backup
illumination defective.
Eyepiece are not mounted correctly.
Diopters not set correctly.
Swing arm is not correctly balanced.
Cables are not correctly laid or have
slipped out of position and exert force on
the system (poss. additional video cable).
Leica M525 OH4 was balanced in
a locked state.
Automatic balancing was not completed.

Remedy
➩Balancing the swing arm
(see page 27).
➩Re-lay the affected cable.
➩Release the lock (see page 22).
➩Check the power cable.
➩Check the footswitch connection.
➩Change the assignments on the control
unit.
➩Check the optical fiber connection.
➩Switch to different light source
(see page 40).
➩Screw in the eyepiece completely.
➩Perform diopter correction exactly
as instructed (see page 24).
➩Balance the Leica M525 OH4
(see page 27).
➩Lay the cable in accordance with the
installation instructions and provide a
strain relief.
➩Release the lock (see page 22) and
balance the Leica M525 OH4
(see page 27).
➩Make sure that the microscope is in
position B (see page 30).
➩Press the push-button for Auto
Balance again.
