What to do if...?

General faults

If the device no longer functions properly,
please contact your Leica representative for advice.
Fault
The microscope tilts when the
ALL-FREE button is pressed.
The microscope cannot be moved,
or great force is required to move it.
The functions cannot be actuated
with footswitches or the controller
at the handgrips.
No light in microscope.
The image does not remain sharp.
The microscope or swing arm moves
up and down or rotates on its own.
Microscope and microscope carrier
can only be moved with great force or
not at all.

Cause
The microscope carrier is not
balanced properly.
A cable is clamped.
The Leica M500 OH3 is locked.
A cable connection has come loose.
Assignment entered incorrectly at the
control unit.
The fibre-optic light guide has detached. ➩Check connection of fibre-optic light guide.
Main and/or backup illuminator defective. ➩Switch to other illumination (see Page 18).
Eyepieces not properly seated.
Dioptrics not set correctly.
Swing arm not balanced out correctly.
Cables not laid properly or have moved
and are putting a strain on the system
(possibly an additional video cable).
Leica M500 OH3 was balanced out
while locked.
Automatic balancing was not
completed.

Remedy
➩Balance out microscope carrier
(see Page 15).
➩Re-lay the affected cable.
➩Release lock (see Page 14).
➩Check the power cable.
➩Check footswitch connection.
➩Change the assignment by means of the
control unit.
➩Screw eyepieces down completely.
➩Perform dioptre correction exactly
according to the instructions (see Page 21).
➩Balance out the Leica M500 OH3
(see Page 15).
➩Lay cables according to installation
instructions and relieve tension.
➩Release locks (see Page 14) and balance
out Leica M500 OH3 (see Page 15).
➩Ensure that position B was reached
(Page 15/16).
➩Press the pushbutton for auto balance
again.
