What to do if...?
Fault
Automatic balancing cannot
be performed.
Zoom cannot be adjusted electrically.
No XY movements are possible at one of
the two CAN handles.
The microscope has not been balanced
exactly in the B-axis.
The push-button for automatic balancing
is flashing, but the acoustic signal is not
sounding (nothing is happening).
Swing arm cannot be moved.
The stand of the Leica M525 OH4 moves.
The range of movement of the
Leica M525 OH4 is limited
(swing, tilt, rotate, XY movement).
Leica M525 OH4 is not correctly
balanced.
Cause
Microscope is tilted at too great an
angle.
Failure of the zoom motor.
No XY movements have been set in
the control unit for the CAN handles.
Installed accessory was not turned
back to the working position when
balancing the B axis.
Balancing process still not complete.
Swing arm locked in position.
Footbrake not applied.
Cable laid too tightly.
Video camera was not correctly
mounted and touches the swing arm.
Position of accessory was changed
after balancing.

Remedy
➩Align A/B axes on microscope
in parallel (see page 30).
➩Repeat automatic balancing
procedure.
➩Press the Zoom rotary button.
➩Set the zoom by turning the button
(see page 41).
➩Set the joystick to XY movement
(see page 50).
➩Balance the B-axis again.
Make sure that the accessory is turned
back to the working position when
balancing the B-axis (see page 28).
Perform intraoperative B/C balancing
(see page 30).
➩Rotate the microscope to the B-position
and press the Autoblance push-button.
➩Release the lock (see page 22).
➩Lock the footbrake in position (see page 35).
➩Re-lay the cable (see assembly instructions
Leica M525 OH4).
➩Mount the video camera correctly.
➩ Balance the Leica M525 OH4
(see page 27).
➩Perform intraoperative AC/BC balancing
of the Leica M525 OH4 (see page 30).
