9 - Maintenance
Quick® Thrusters are made in materials that are resistant to the sea environment: In any case, it is indispen-
sable to periodically remove salt deposits that form on the outer surfaces to avoid corrosions and consequent
system inefficiency.
ACCORDING TO THE USE WE RECOMMEND CHECKING PERIODICALLY THE OIL SEALS AND IF NECESSARY REPLACING
THEM.
WARNING: make sure that the power supply to the hydraulic motor is not switched on when mainte-
nance operations are carried out.
Dismantle once a year, following the points below:
• Clean propellers, tunnel and gearleg.
• Paint the propeller and the gearleg with anti-vegetative paintbefore each season.
• Check the anode frequently.
• Replace the anode before every season or when it is more than half consumed.
• After any maintenance, make sure that the bolts that lock the flange to the gearleg are well tightened.
• After every maintenance, make sure that the propeller is well tightened and that the bolts locking the hydraulic
motor are tight.
• Fill up without mixing different hydraulic fluids.
• Periodically verify the integrity of the hydraulic connections and only operate on them when certain that there is
no pressure inside.
WARNING: do not paint the anodes (15), the sealings and the gearlegs' shafts where the propellers are
lodged.
