Updating the serial number

The component (CI Mgr) serial number is stored in iLO NVRAM. The serial number is stored in the disk on first boot after
installation or factory reset or reimage.
Prerequisites
Authorized service personnel need to update the serial number if:
The system board (that contains iLO NVRAM) is replaced.
The drive and the system battery are replaced at the same time.
Procedure
Authorized support personnel must log in to the appliance, create the required configuration file (/ci/etc/.warranty-serial-
number) with the correct serial number (from the label attached to the original system board) and reboot the appliance.
On appliance reboot, the serial number stored on the drive (/ci/etc/.warranty-serial-number) is written to iLO NVRAM.
