    Customer self repair Hewlett Packard Enterprise products are designed with many Customer Self Repair (CSR) parts to minimize repair time and allow for greater flexibility in performing defective parts replacement. If during the diagnosis period Hewlett Packard Enterprise (or Hewlett Packard Enterprise service providers or service partners) identifies that the repair can be accomplished by the use of a CSR part, Hewlett Packard Enterprise will ship that part directly to you for replacement.

    If the local appliance module is the active appliance module in an appliance cluster and if the standby appliance module is reachable, the support dump will contain the data for both cluster members. Otherwise, a support dump is created with data for the local appliance module only.
  • Page 18 Procedure 1. Identify the version of the appliance module image. (HPE Synergy Composer) View the firmware version on the Appliance panel of the HPE OneView Settings screen. (HPE Synergy ImageStreamer) View the firmware version: • In the appliance maintenance console using the View option.

    • For HPE Synergy Image Streamer, from the main menu of the Image Streamer interface, select Deployment Appliances > Actions > Shutdown. This will power down both appliance modules in a high-availability cluster. To power down just one of the appliance modules, or if the appliance module is in a standalone configuration, select the Shutdown option from the appliance maintenance console of the appliance module to be serviced.

  • Page 21 NOTE: The appliance module is unavailable during the role exchange and unable to respond to requests while services are reassigned. HPE OneView services will be stopped on the active appliance module and restarted on the standby appliance module. Operations in progress might be interrupted and need to be restarted.

Verify that the standby appliance module is removed from the cluster either by examining the Appliance panel on the Settings screen, or by using the View details command of the HPE OneView Maintenance Console.   • Page 24 • When an appliance module is removed, an alert displays on the HPE OneView SERVERS > Enclosures screen, after 3 to 4 minutes. This alert displays as soon as the appliance module removal operation starts and notifies you that the expected Image Streamer is missing.

  • Page 27 • After you insert an appliance, the SERVERS > Enclosures screen in the HPE OneView user interface displays an alert about the interconnect link topology with state as Cleared. This state update might take up to 6 minutes from the time you insert the appliance.
  • Page 28 • When the same appliance that was removed earlier is reinserted, the reinserted appliance undergoes a factory reset and powers off. Then, you must click the Factory Reset link on the SERVERS > Enclosures screen in HPE OneView user interface.

If there are multiple appliance modules, locate the indicator for the one to be reimaged. 5. Use the applicator to press the pinhole button (located inside of the Power/Reset LED indicator) for more than 10 seconds.

    6. Release the pinhole button as soon as you see the flashing Active LED. If connected, the HPE Synergy Console shows progress messages. The front panel UID flashes blue throughout the reimage process. After reimaging, the appliance module reboots, updates the firmware to the version stored on the preloaded USB drive, and starts HPE OneView.
