Procedure
1. Review "Guidelines for removing an Image Streamer appliance."
2. If you are removing both appliance modules in the primary appliance module pair, change the deployment appliance
module. For more information, see "Change the deployment appliance for an Image Streamer OS deployment server" in the
HPE OneView Help for HPE Synergy on the Hewlett Packard Enterprise website (http://www.hpe.com/support/OV-
OLHS).
3. Use the HPE Image Streamer Maintenance Console to power down the appliance module that you want to remove.
For more information, see "About the Maintenance console."
4. Remove the component as indicated.
NOTE:
If the appliance module that you remove is the active appliance module in a highly available cluster, the standby
appliance module automatically takes over as the primary or active appliance module.
Wait for at least 20 minutes before inserting an appliance module back into the slot. (Version 3.1) Verify that the
"Remove" task in the OS deployment Server page is completed before inserting another appliance module.
Guidelines for removing an Image Streamer
Before removing an Image Streamer from the CIM slot, verify if the Image Streamer appliance cluster health and OS volume
status are healthy. The Deployment Appliances screen on the Image Streamer user interface displays the cluster health
and OS volume status. If you remove the appliance module without verifying the cluster health or OS volume status, you
might lose access to the OS volume.
Before removing an Image Streamer, verify that there are no outstanding warnings on the APPLIANCE > Enclosures
screen, APPLIANCE > OS Deployment Servers screen in HPE OneView, or on the Deployment Appliances screen in
Image Streamer.
For example, the warning can read as: Changes made on <enclosure1> appliance bay<number> are
being synchronized to <enclosure2> appliance bay<number>
