Note: Only LN03 Plus and PostScript emulations on the QMS printer
return backchannel messages to the printed error log page.
The following example specifies that LN03 Plus error messages are
printed on the error log (trailer) page after the job:
/PARAMETER=MESSAGES=PRINT
The following example returns job-related messages to the terminal:
/PARAMETER=MESSAGES=TERM
The following example logs all backchannel messages from the
printer to a file having the file specification of the originally printed file.
(For example, FILESPEC.LOG where FILESPEC is the path of the
current file being printed):
/PARAMETER=MESSAGES=FILE
The following example sends backchannel messages to the terminal
and to FILESPEC.LOG:
/PARAMETER=MESSAGES=BOTH
»
Note: The /PARAMETER messages of BOTH, TERM, and FILE have
no effect unless the QMS$HSL network application is running. See
chapter 2, "DECnet Host Software Installation," for more information
about the HSL application.
Jogging, also called offset stacking, separates multiple copies of print
jobs by offsetting alternating sets. If your printer supports the OFF-
SET parameter, valid values are off or on. Check your user's guide to
determine where this command should be specified. This command
causes both your data file and accompanying break pages to be off-
set from others' date files and break pages. Use the following com-
mand to offset your print jobs:
$ PRINT/QUE=quename/PARAMETERS=(OFFSET= selection ) -
_$ filename.ext
