System Manual
The data is stored on an external server.
– In the ABB-Welcome IP system on the server of Busch-Jaeger.
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
– In a network, every device requires its own address so as to able to be
recognised in the network. These addresses are allocated automatically via
the DHCP.
Interface between two systems
The transmitter can simultaneously deliver IP data flows to many recipients in
a single step.
Connection strip in the data transmission.
Connection cable in the data transmission.
Boundary of an administration unit.
– A typical example of such a boundary in ABB-Welcome IP is an
underground car park to which several houses belong. There is a central
access to the underground car park for all and several independent
houses. All of this is part of a central administration.
Power over Ethernet
– With PoE, network cables supply network-capable devices with current via
an existing data connection. Only one cable is required for the transmission
of the current and data.
Power Sourcing Equipment
– Devices for the infeed of PoE. E.g. PoE switches.
Powered Device
– Device that is supplied via PoE.
Quality of Service
– Optimisation of connection through automatic prioritisation of applications.
A device, a computer for example, can normally communicate only within its
own network. To enter a different network, a device is required that transmits
and distributes the data packages. This process is called routing. The device
that takes over this task is the router.
Picture series or picture collections for which many photos or other graphics
are consecutively illustrated.
Data transmission cables in which the wires are twisted in pairs.
– Twisted pair wires in comparison to parallel wires offer better protection
against electrical and magnetic interference.
