3. Remove the bolt from the ripper shank cover, and turn
the cover from the detent. Remove the spring and
punch out the bolt.
Adjusting the ripper shanks
4. Remove the bolt. The plate beneath the bolt has a
detent to hold the pin in place (1).
5. Drive the pin (2) out, and adjust the shank to the posi-
tion desired.
NOTE: The ripper shanks have a threaded orifice to insert
an I-bolt to aid in lifting. Ripper shanks are heavy. Use
appropriate lifting equipment.
6. Replace the pin and retaining clip.
Ripper teeth
1. Damaged ripper teeth can be replaced without remov-
ing the ripper shank.
2. Position the ripper teeth slightly above the ground. Re-
move cap and punch out bolt.
3. Clean mating surfaces and replace ripper tooth with a
new component. Replace bolt.
