Releasing the brakes
This machine is equipped with SAHR (spring applied hy-
draulically released) parking brakes. Hydraulic pressure
must release the brakes. If the engine will not run, you
MUST use a hand pump to release the brakes.
1. Remove the hydraulic reservoir breather. Connect a
vacuum pump at the hydraulic reservoir breather, and
hold a vacuum to keep from losing fluid.
2. Disconnect the fittings (1) at the brake lines and cap
the fittings. There are two brake lines. A T-fitting will
be required for the two lines in order to connect to the
hand pump. If a T-fitting is not available, two pumps
must be used.
3.
Connect a hand pump with the capacity to reach and
maintain 2275 kPa (330.0 psi) 22.7 bar (329.2 psi).
4.
Operate the pump until the correct pressure is
reached, and the brakes are released.
5.
Check and maintain 2275 kPa (330.0 psi) 22.7 bar
(329.2 psi) maximum in the brake line when moving
the machine. Damage to the brake system can result
if the pressure is reduced.
6.
Move the machine following safety guidelines for
moving a disabled machine.
7.
Disconnect the hand pump.
8.
Remove the plug, and reconnect the lines to the
brake solenoid.
9.
Remove the vacuum pump, if used.
10. Tighten the relief valve engagement screws back
in carefully, and replace protective caps with a new
caps.
NOTICE: The protective caps prevent damage or inadvertent movement of the engagement screws.
