Table 4-26 Bar Code Function Command
BC_Decode
Function Name
This command reads the bar code symbology as defined using setup commands in the
Description
product.
ON: \01\00\00
OFF: \00\00\00 stop decode
Parameters
Time-out: \01\ + hex word, decode with turn-off after success or time-out in seconds
[1 - 65535 s]
e.g., 10 s
Decode ON, Continuous Operation
An ACC frame + n BFR frame(s).
ACC frame format: <ACC>
After each success, a BFR frame is sent to the host.
BFR frame format: <BFR> <[Preamble]> <AIM_ID> <barcode_data> <[Postamble]>
Decode OFF
An ACC frame is sent after the function is stopped.
ACC frame format: <ACC>
Decode ON with Time-out
Responses
An ACC frame is sent.
Decode is turned off after a success (BFR frame is sent to the host) and time-out (PEV
frame is sent to the host)
After a success, a BFR frame is sent to the host.
BFR frames: <BFR> <[Preamble]> <AIM_ID> <barcode_data> <[Postamble]>
When the time-out expires, a PEV frame is sent.
PEV frame format: <PEV><Event number>, with event
number = BC_decode_Timeout (0x21)
Note: If the product is powered by battery and a low battery status is detected, the
product will send a PEV frame.
PEV frame: <PEV> < Event number>, with event number = battery discharged (0x10)

Bar Code Function

This bar code function command reads the bar code symbology that has been defined
using the Sabre 1555 setup commands. Table 4-26 lists the command parameters.
