3 Intended use

3.1 Indications for use
The 28L8 Lörrach Hip Abduction Orthosis is intended exclusively for the treatment of hip dys­
plasia in infants and toddlers.
The orthosis must be used in accordance with the indications.
3.2 Indications
Hip dysplasia up to Type IIIa (as categorized by Prof. Graf)
Indications must be determined by the physician.
3.3 Contraindications
3.3.1 Absolute Contraindications
Not known.
3.3.2 Relative Contraindications
For the following clinical pictures, consultation with a physician is required before applying and
wearing the product: skin diseases/injuries in the fitted body region, in particular in case of
inflammatory changes; raised scars with swelling, reddening and warming; lymphatic congestion
and dysaesthesia in the legs
3.4 Effects
The Lörrach Hip Abduction Orthosis was designed to increase flexion and reduce abduction in
the seated squat position. Movement is controlled by the articulated mounting of the leg position­
