System Operation
Follow manufacturer's recommended instructions when setting up a patient
with the fixation device, generator and patient interface.
Once the patient has been properly set-up, set the prescribed values for the
CPAP level and FiO
circuit to the driver. See Figure 13.
If an alarm occurs during operation, it should be addressed immediately to
ensure that the patient is receiving the proper therapy. Details about the
alarms generated by the driver are listed in the Alarm details and actions
section of this manual. Medium Priority alarms are self-clearing when the
corresponding fault condition no longer exists. High Priority alarms are not
self-clearing and must be manually reset by the operator.
Due to the nature of the treatment, operators must know and understand all
of the potential hazards and complications that can arise during use of this
driver. To ensure safe and effective treatment and use of this driver, the
operator must use all necessary precautions. These precautions include, but
are not limited to the following:

Properly apply fixation device and generator
Ensure proper prong/mask size
Inspect the patient every four (4) hours for the following:
Nasal irritation and septal distortion
Skin irritation and pressure necrosis
Nasal mucosal damage due to lack of humidification
Gastric insufflation and abdominal distension
