Automatic transmission fluid
level check
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and
apply the parking brake.
2. Run the engine at idling speed and
firmly depress the brake peddal. Move
the shift lever from ® to © and then from
© to ®
3. Check the water temperature gauge to
see that the engine coolant is warmed
up enough.
4. Pull the dipstick out and wipe it clean.
Insert it into the original position.
5. Pull the dipstick out and check the fluid
level.
6. If the oil level is too low, add the speci­
fied fluid through the oil filler tube slowly.
Do not overfill.
For recommended automatic transmis­
sion fluid, see section 14.
7. Securely insert the dipstick.
8. Wipe off any split fluid.
CAUTION
• If the fluid is dirty, have the fluid
changed by a Perodua dealer.
• If the fluid level is too low, or if fluid
decreases noticeably, have the sys­
tem checked by a Perodua dealer.
WARNING
• Be careful not to burn your self as
the fluid may be hot.
• Never touch or come close to the
moving parts while the engine is
running, to help reduce the risk of
serious bodily injury.
Steering wheel free play check
Move the steering wheel lightly from
straight-ahead position to right and left until
you feel resistance, and measure the free
play.
Check to see that the free play is within the
specification.
WARNING
If the free play is not within the specifi­
cation, have the system check im­
mediately by a Perodua dealer.
