@ Screw the new filter into place and
tighten it by hand until the gasket
contacts the seat.
Then, give the filter about one addi­
tional turn to seat it.
® Install the number plate, reversing
the installation procedure.
® Reinstall the drain plug and new
gasket.
Tighten the drain plug with a proper­
size wrench.
CAUTION
Do not overtighten the oil filter and drain
plug. It could cause oil leakage.
(J) Use Castrol M TEC SG or equivalent.
@ Slowly pour engine oil.
For engine oil capacity, see Section
14.
® Install the oil filler cap by hand.
WARNING
Securely install the oil filler cap. If not,
oil consumption may increase and en­
gine oil may be splashed on the com­
ponents, which may cause a fire.
@) Wait a few minutes and check the
engine oil level.
@ Run the engine and check if engine
oil is leaking from the oil filter or drain
plug.
Any leak indicates improper installa­
tion of the oil filter or drain plug.
@ Turn the engine off and wait a few
minutes.
Check the engine oil level again and
add oil, if necessary.
WARNING
• Clean any spilt oil. It may cause a
fire if it is left on a hot component.
• Wash your hands thoroughly.
• Prolonged contact with used en­
gine oil could cause skin cancer.
