To change coolant
1. Remove the radiator cap.
2. Place a container under the drain plug
for draining coolant.
3. Remove the radiator drain plug and gas
ket, and allow the coolant to drain com
pletely.
4. Drain the coolant from the reserve tank.
5. Install the radiator drain plug and new
gasket, and tighten it securely.
6. Slowly pour proper amount of long-life
coolant into the radiator and reserve
tank. Pour proper amount of clean soft
water into the radiator until it is full.
Pour the clean soft water into the re
serve tank to the "FULL" line.
7. Close the radiator and reserve tank
caps securely.
8. Run the engine for several minutes and
stop it. Allow the engine to cool.
9. Carefully remove the radiator cap and
check the coolant level. Add the clean
soft water, if necessary, to the radiator.
10. Install the radiator cap tightly.
11. Warm up the engine to normal operat
ing temperature.
Check if any coolant is leaking from the
drain plug.
Any leak indicates improper installa
tion of the radiator drain plug.
12. After driving for a short while, check the
coolant level. If the coolant has de
creased, add clean soft water to the
"FULL" line in the reserve tank.
Drive belt check
WARNING
Be careful not to burn yourself with hot
engine components and radiator.
Turn the engine off and inspect the drive
belt for cracks, excessive wear or oiliness.
Have any damaged belt replaced by a
Perodua dealer.
Push the midpoint of the drive belt between
the alternator and the water pump pulley,
and measure the deflection.
