Opening and closing the hood
Opening the hood
NOTICE
When opening the Targa roof, the rear glass window
projects beyond the contours of the vehicle. There is
a risk of damage to the rear glass window.
e While opening and closing, make sure that no
one is behind the vehicle. Make sure there is
sufficient clearance above and behind the vehicle
(e.g. in the garage).

e Pull button B.
Coupé: The hood is released and can be lifted.
Cabriolet: The hood (convertible top compart-
ment lid) opens automatically as far as service
position.
Targa: The rear glass window opens automati-
cally to the service position.
If the Targa roof or the rear glass window is opened
or closed using the button in the center console or
using the engine compartment lid button, rear Par-
kAssist is activated at the same time
If the sensors detect an obstacle at a distance of
approx. 20 in. (50 cm) or less, opening or closing is
stopped.
A message appears on the instrument cluster.
If there is no obstacle in the vicinity of the vehicle,
the process can be continued manually.
e Pull the button twice within approx. 10 seconds.
Closing the hood
Coupé:
1. Lower the hood and allow it to drop into the lock.
Press the hood closed with the flat of your hand
over the lock area.
2. Check that the hood has correctly engaged in the
lock.
If the hood is not closed properly, a message ap-
pears in the instrument cluster while driving.
Cabriolet:
e Pull button B.
The hood (convertible top compartment lid)
closes automatically.
Targa:
e Pull and hold button B until the rear glass win-
dow is fully closed.
– or –
Pull the button for closing the Targa roof and
hold it until the rear glass window is fully closed.
