system in the long term.
e Do not allow the oil level to drop below the min-
imum mark.
e Only add engine oil to the maximum mark. In the
event of overfilling, correct this at the earliest
opportunity. Visit an authorized Porsche dealer.
Porsche recommends an authorized Porsche
dealer, as they have trained technicians and the
necessary parts and tools.
Make sure to note the following points:
– Use only engine oils approved by Porsche. Ob-
serve the service intervals.
– Oils approved by Porsche can be mixed.
– Do not use oil additives.
– If you suspect an engine leak, have the engine
checked immediately. Visit an authorized Por-
sche dealer. Porsche recommends an authorized
Porsche dealer, as they have trained technicians
and the necessary parts and tools.

If a sticker showing details of an approved engine
oil is affixed in the engine compartment, this spec-
ification has priority over the specifications in this
manual.
If in doubt and to find out the current approval sta-
tus, please contact an authorized Porsche dealer.

1. Read the engine oil level on the multifunction
display.
2. Open the engine lid (Cabriolet: convertible top
compartment lid, Targa: glass rear screen)
3. Unscrew the cap of the oil filler opening.
4. Add the amount of engine oil displayed on the
multifunction display. Never add more than the
amount of engine oil indicated. The difference
between the minimum and maximum mark is
around 1.4 quarts (911 Carrera, 911 Targa) or
around 1.1 quarts (911 Turbo S)
5. Carefully close the cap of the oil filler opening.
