5 Main settings of the receiver
The first installation procedure (Chapter 3) allows the basic use of the receiver. It still has more advanced features and
options that are briefly described in the following paragraphs.
5.1 Protection
5.1.1 Password
The change of some settings or the access of a secure channel (par. 5.1.2) requires the input of a four-digit numerical
code called Personal Identification Number (PIN) or password. It is defined by the user during the first installation of the
device (chapter 3); then you can customized it via the menu Settings > Parental Control > Change Password.
WARNING
If you forget the password, it will be necessary to conduct a factory reset to return the receive to its initial state, a
function available at the menu Installation > Default Setting (paragraph 5.6).
5.1.2 Child protection
The Child protection feature, also commonly called Parental Control, implements a control on the viewing of sensitive
events. When the tuned channel broadcasts an event with viewing information security for an audience above a certain
age set on the menu, the receiver will block this channel. A request to unlock viewing by entering a PIN (paragraph 5.1.1)
will then appear on the screen.

time/summer time.
NOTE
Not all digital terrestrial and satellite channels broadcast EPG information and time. Furthermore, the display of EPG
data is related to the precise time setting on the receiver. For these reasons, it may happen that they are not displayed or
they may be incorrect.
In this menu, you will be able to program the receiver power on and power off times on a specific channel.
5.3 Update and channel searching
It is a good practice to periodically update the channel list in the receiver, for example when new television and radio
services are activated.
5.3.1 Automatic channel update
The receiver has a function for automatically updating terrestrial and/or satellite channels while in stand-by mode. To
set and enable this function, enter in the menu Installation > Channel Update, then choose the antenna/s and relative to
channel/s to be updated (
Satellite
+
Terrestrial, Satellite, Terrestrial
). The automatic update will be initiated immediately
after turning off the receiver in stand-by.
Start
You can also manually run an update on the antenna/s chosen via the
button on the screen.
NOTE
If the LCN is active (chapter 3) and new LCN conflicts are detected during the scanning in stand-by of digital terrestrial
channels (where more than one channel requires the same LCN position), the automatic channel update provides for the
automatic termination of such conflicts.
5.3.2 Satellite channel search
To set up the satellite dish and also manually run a scan of satellite channels, access the Installation> Satellite menu.
Different cases are distinguished depending on the characteristics of the installation of satellite reception to which the
receiver is connected.
5.3.2.1 Satellite antenna configuration
Before you start a channel scan, you must set up satellite dish properly. They differ in most cases depending on the type
of system used.
