4.5 Picture-in-Picture (PIP) function
If while watching a TV channel you want to preview another TV channel, feature called Picture-in-Picture (PIP), then
press the PIP button on the remote. In PIP mode:
To change channel on the main screen, use on of the usual methods to change a channel (paragraph 4.2)
To change channel on the preview pane, press the OPT button to open a secondary channel list, and therefore
change the source through the DTT/SAT button and finally select the channel with the arrow ▲/▼buttons and OK.
To exchange the two displays, re-press the PIP button.
To exit PIP, press EXIT during the normal viewing (when no channel list is open on the screen).
PIP usage constraints
In the preview pane you can display a second channel if it meets one of the following two rules:
1.
it is received by the tuner and on the same frequency of the channel displayed on the main screen,
2.
it is received by the other tuner.
For example, if on the home screen you are watching a digital channel, the receiver will be able to display in the preview
pane a digital terrestrial channel broadcasted on the same frequency as the primary or any satellite channel.
3.
Refer also to CAM modules limitations (par. 4.7).
Moreover, given the high computational capability necessary to process of signals in Ultra High Definition (UHD/4K):
4.
PIP is not available in correspondence with an UHD service.
4.6 Electronic Program Guide (EPG)
Some digital TV channels broadcast, in addition to the audio-video data of the current program, information concerning
the current programming and, in certain cases, even daily, or weekly programming.
To consult the Electronic Program Guide (Electronic Program Guide - EPG), press the EPG button on the remote. The
EPG menu is divided into four parts, each corresponding to one of the colored buttons on the remote control:
Table
1.
(RED button): EPG with the programs shown in a grid/table form.
List
2.
(GREEN button): EPG with the programs shown in a list form.
Schedule
3.
(YELLOW button): Menu to manually program the viewing timers and to view/modify timers already
programmed.
4.
Find (BLUE button): Utility to search for a program broadcasted by the tuned channel either by keyword, genre and
date.
NOTE
The EPG information are optional data transmitted by television broadcasters. Therefore, failure to display all or
some of the information does not constitute a malfunction of the receiver.
The updating of the EPG information for a channel occurs after having tuned into that specific channel.
4.7 Conditioanl Access Module - CAM (optional)
The dual slot for optional modules for Conditional Access (Conditional Access Module - CAM), located on the rear panel
of the receiver, is compatible with Common Interface Plus (CI +) and Common Interface (CI) CAM types, to be purchased
separately.
NOTE
For the use of paid services and the management of related CAM and smart-card, refer to the instruction manual
supplied together with CAM and smart card.
Usually, in the CAM modules, smart card must be inserted with the gold chip facing up.
CAM Insertion
Before performing the insertion of CAM module, make sure the receiver is already installed and tuned to a channel. Then
push accurately the CAM the seat until it stops.
WARNING
At the first insertion (or at a new installation after a factory reset), the CI+ CAM requires a security authentication. This
process consists of a data exchange between CAM and receiver which takes several seconds, do not interact with the
receiver during this phase.
CAM Extraction
To extract the CAM, simply grip and pull it outward.
CAM Usage Limitations
Because of technical characteristics of the Common Interface Modules, during the usage of a CAM, it is not possible to
view or record a scrambled channel different from the one that is already tuned. Free-To-Air channels are not involved
in this limitation.
