Graphics Controllers
Overview
The purpose of a graphics controller is to generate and send the graphics signal
to the monitor. The quality of the picture you see depends on the resolution of
your monitor and the number of colors that the graphics controller can display.
High-resolution graphics with many colors requires that the graphics controller
have its own memory.
The Compaq Professional Workstation 6000 and 8000 come standard with one
of the following graphics controllers:
MGA Millennium II
GLoria Synergy
GLoria-L 3D
FireGL 4000
