Hardware Upgrades
Reconfiguring the Workstation
System configuration is the process of specifying the devices and programs that
make up a system. When you add or remove optional equipment, you must
reconfigure the workstation to recognize these changes.
Run the Computer Setup utility after you complete the installation. To
configure in Windows NT, use Control Panel and configure your specific
option.
If configuration settings are incorrect, one or more devices may not work
properly, and you may receive an error message. If this occurs, run the
Computer Setup utility again. See Chapter 4 for instructions.

Installing Hardware Upgrades

The Compaq Professional Workstation 6000 and 8000 chassis facilitates the
installation of hardware upgrades. Most hardware options are installed on the
system board, on the processor board, or in the drive bay area.

Remove the expansion cage
Open front bezel and remove the small access panel
Open the front bezel and remove large access panel
Open the front bezel
Remove the processor cage
Remove the processor cage
