5.4 Lowering the Cutter

Transport lock pins are provided for the center phasing and wing lift hydraulic cylinders. When these pins are
inserted in their respective holes, they prevent the wings or center frame from dropping due to a hydraulic
cylinder or hose failure.
FULLY extend the phasing cylinder until there is no
weight on the center transport lockup bar. Flip the
lockup bar up and away from the center phasing
cylinder and use the pin to lock it in the storage
location. NEVER force the transport lockup bar
from its position. If the lockup bar does not move
freely then the center cylinder is not fully extended.
If the rotary cutter has been supplied to you already
assembled, it is possible that the phasing hydraulic
cylinders are not completely filled with oil.
FULLY retract the wing lift cylinders until there is not
weight on the wing lockup pin. Remove the lynch
pin from the lockup pin and slide the pin out into the
storage position. Insert the lynch pin to secure.
NEVER force the lockup pin out. If the lockup pin
does not move freely, then the cylinders are not
fully retracted. If the rotary cutter has been supplied
to you already assembled, then it is possible that
the wing lift hydraulics are not completely filled with
oil.
