5.5 Residue Distribution Tailboard

The Residue Distribution Tailboard is designed to
maximize
the
FX-315's
capabilities.
The wing tailboards offer multiple levels of
adjustment. The Adjustment Arm is attached to the
Float linkage using one of two holes on the
Adjustment arm and one of three holes on the Float
Linkage. The Adjustment arm is then attached to
the main deflector body using one of five
Adjustment Holes.
NOTE: Ensure the bolts and locknuts used to
assemble the adjustment arm to the adjustment link
(center) are loose enough so they can pivot. This
will ensure the tailboards are able to float over
obstacles.
The center deflector also has multiple levels of
adjustment. The Adjustment Arm can be attached
to the Adjustment link using one of four holes. The
Adjustment Arm is also attached to the main body
of the deflector using one of five Adjustment Holes.
Adjust the distribution tailboards up or down to
meet your specific needs. Always operate the
tailboards in the lowest possible position that still
fulfills your requirements.

6. SETTING THE MOWER

Properly setting the cutting height is essential for efficient and safe operation. A properly set mower will make
a more uniform cut, distribute clippings more evenly, require minimal tractor work, and follow the contour of
uneven terrain. NOTE: Avoid very low cutting heights, striking the ground with the blades gives the most
damaging shock loads and will cause damage to the mower and drive. Blades contacting the ground may
cause objects to be thrown out from under the mower deck. Always avoid operating the mower at a height
which causes the blades to contact the ground. OPS-U- 0010
Never work under the Implement, the framework, or any lifted
component unless the Implement is securely supported or blocked up
to prevent sudden or inadvertent falling which could cause serious
injury or even death.
