Cleaning the excavator

Before cleaning, shut down the engine and secure it against starting.
STOP
If a steam cleaner is used for cleaning the excavator, do not direct the steam jet at electric compo-
nents.
Do not direct a water jet into the intake opening of the air filter.
Do not clean the excavator with inflammable liquids.
The excavator may only be washed at suitable places (using oil and grease separators).
The excavator can be cleaned with water and a commercial cleaning agent. Make sure no water gets into the elec-
trical system.
Use a plastic cleaner for plastic parts.

Cleaning the extendable track width

If the slide pipes (1) for the extendable track width on
the track frame are clogged or dirt or sand is stuck to
them, then they must be cleaned as follows.
To clean them, park the excavator on level ground.
STOP
First lift the excavator with the dozer and raise boom.
Set extendable track width to standard track width.
Remove any dirt and sand that is stuck to the slide pipes and
lubricate the pipes evenly. Ensure that all slide pipes are lubricated.
By actuating the control lever, narrow and widen the track width multiple times so that the grease is distributed
accordingly.
Carefully set the excavator down on the ground using the dozer and boom.
