MIB
An MIB (Management Information Base) is a data base of a device. SNMP clients access this
data base in the device. The S7 device family supports, among others, the following standard
MIBs:
• MIB II, standardized in the RFC 1213
• LLDP MIB, standardized in the international standard IEE 802.1AB
• LLDP PNIO-MIB, standardized in the international standard IEE 61158-6-10
Non-isolated
For non-isolated I/O modules the reference potentials of the control and load circuits are
electrically connected.
Parameter assignment
By assigning parameters you set a module's behavior.
Parameter assignment master
Each DP slave has a parameter assignment master. During startup the parameter assignment
master provides the DP slave with the parameterization data. It has read-write access to the
DP slave and can change a DP slave's configuration.
PLC
→ Programmable logic controller
Prioritized startup
Prioritized startup denotes PROFINET functionality for accelerating the startup of IO devices
for RT and IRT communication within a PROFINET IO system.
The function reduces the time that the correspondingly configured IO devices require to
recover the cyclic exchange of user data in the following situations:
• after power has returned
• after station recovery
• after activation of IO devices
Product version
Any product with an order number has a product version. Reasons for revising the product
version include upward-compatible function enhancements, production-related changes
(new parts and components) and fault corrections.
