Leak tests

WARNING
!
The half mask may not fit correctly over facial hair or features
– danger of injury or death!
The half mask must fit tightly. In case leak occurs during the
test, don't enter the contaminated area.
NOTICE
i
i
The pad cap of pad-particle filters does not provide an airtight
seal for the gas filter and/or the pad plate. Thus, it is necessary
to carry out the positive pressure test for pad-particle filters.
3.4.1
Negative pressure test
Seal both respiratory filters with your hands or an aid (e.g. a piece of
cardboard) and breathe in until a negative pressure is created (see
Figure G). Hold your breath for a moment. 
The negative pressure should be maintained. If not, adjust the
harness.
3.4.2
Positive pressure test
Seal the exhalation valve of the half mask and breathe out forcefully
(see Figure H). 
The half mask must NOT lift off your face. If the exhaled air dissipates
between face and mask body, adjust the harness.
