6.2 Periodical Inspection

6.2 Periodical Inspection
Check the following items periodically (once every six months or so).
(1) Reading of error trace record
Connect the engineering tool to the L3 CPU module, to read error trace record. If any
error has been recorded, check if the same erroneous phenomenon can occur
repeatedly.
For the reading method, refer to the "Engineering Tool - Basics" manual (6F8C0875).
(2) Saving of memory and program contents
Using the engineering tool, save the user memory and user program contents.
For the saving method, refer to the "Engineering Tool - Basics" manual (6F8C0875).
(3) Plant shutdown
After inspecting items (1) and (2) above, shutdown the plant. Confirm the proper
shutdown method for each system in advance.
(4) Cleaning of modules
6
Dismount modules from the basic base unit, and clean each module by air-blasting or
other appropriate methods. After cleaning, mount each module in its original position.
For the module mounting/dismounting methods, refer to Section 2.2 "Mounting/
Dismounting of Modules"
(5) Inspection of the basic base unit for installed status
Inspect the basic base unit for installation status. Check that the basic base unit is free of
looseness. If it is loose, tighten the fixing screws firmly.
(6) Inspection of each module for installed status
Check each fixing screw of modules to see that it is not loose or missing. If there are
loose fixing screws, tighten them firmly.
(7) Inspection of cables
Inspect each cable to see that it is not damaged. Replace damaged cable.
(8) Inspection of screws at power input terminals
Inspect each screw at each power input terminal to see that it is not loose. Tighten loose
screws.
WARNING
• Before conducting inspection, be sure to check that the input power (L3 output switch on the
incoming/distributing unit) is OFF. Otherwise, electrical shock can be caused.
(9) Measurement of input voltage
Measure input voltage at each AC power input terminal of the line I/O terminal unit of the
power supply module, to confirm that the voltage is in the following range:
85 to 132 Vac (for 100 V power supply)
170 to 264 Vac (for 200 V power supply)
If measured voltage is out of these ranges, inspect the external power supply system.
