2.2.2 System Expansion
Installing optional Port cards
There are two types of Port cards that you can install:
• KX-TVP102 (2 Digital/Analog ports expansion card)
• KX-TVP204 (4 Digital ports expansion card)
If you use three KX-TVP204 cards, the system can handle up to 12 calls simul-
taneously. Please read ahead for more details:
Note: No Port cards are installed at the factory.
Precaution
When installing an optional Port card, make sure the Power Switch is turned off.
To protect the printed circuit board from static electricity, first discharge any body
static by touching the grounding strap. Refer to the manual accompanying the op-
tional card about precautions and the installation procedure.
The optional Port card for system expansion should be inserted into a proper slot as
illustrated below.

Remove the adhesive tape from the
card.
2.
Loosen screw* with a screwdriver.
* The screw is unnecessary after
installation.
3.
Loosen the screw on the grounding
strap, then remove the strap from the
unit.

4.
Insert the optional Port card into the
SLOT 1 using the guide rails.
5.
Press the left and right card latches
firmly, then fix the grounding strap to
the unit with a screwdriver.
