Faults, Causes and Remedies

10.1 Troubleshooting Vortek Hoist

Problem
Motor control box CEE-FORM cable plug
will not connect to main power
receptacle
No power to hoist
Hoist will not operate
Motor control box red LED on
Hoist is noisy

10.2 System Messages

Below is a list of status messages that may appear on your QT1-C Field Service Kit LCD.
If any of these messages appear and you are not sure how to correct the situation, immediately cease
use of your system and contact the ETC Rigging Installer who installed your system or contact ETC
Technical Services at the appropriate office mentioned in
For any message that is not included in the table below, contact your system installer or ETC Technical
Services.
Note:
Faults, Causes and Remedies
• Wrong or damaged CEE-FORM cable plug
• Wrong or damaged CEE-FORM receptacle
• Main power is not on
• Hoist motor control box CEE-FORM connector is
plugged into wrong receptacle
• Incorrect motor control box wiring
• Incorrect wiring of CEE-FORM cable plug, no contact
between wire and pins
• Incorrect wiring of CEE-FORM receptacle, no contact
between wire and pins
• Incorrect wiring or defective wiring of motor control box
power switch
• Data cable from motor control box damaged
• Wrong hoist or controller software installed
• Hoist has a fault condition
• Hoist self-test failed
• System fault
• Damaged Vortek load brake pad material
• Vortek load brake pawls don't work correctly
• ACME screw requires lubrication
When using a primary control system or other connected controller, such as
Foundation, QuickTouch or QuickTouch+, reference the related documentation for
system messages and troubleshooting.
