Operation

Stand-alone operation of the Vortek NXT hoist is through the use of the supplied
QT1-C Field Service Kit.
For information on the use of Foundation or QuickTouch family controllers, please reference the
related User Operations Manuals. Before performing any service and maintenance on the hoist or its
controller, review chapter

WARNING:
Before Moving a Hoist
• Check that there are no hoist faults.
• Make sure you can see the entire batten through the entire intended travel. If necessary, use the
remote control to get a better view.
• Make sure there are no obstructions.
• Make sure nobody is standing underneath the batten.
• Call out the intended movement.
While Moving a Hoist
• Keep your eyes on the entire batten and the intended travel. Never look at the controller display
and never get distracted.
• Stop the hoist if there is a problem.
• Stop the hoist if you get distracted.

8.1 Check Main Input Connections

1:
Check that the 5-pin 16A CEE FORM (Red) plug from the motor control box is connected to a
5-pin receptacle at the main power outlet.
2:
Check that the 9 pin CPC (grey) data cable from the motor control box is connected to the 9 pin
receptacle on the QT1-C Field Service Kit.
3:
Check the QT1-C Field Service Kit is connected to a local power source using the provided
international power supply with regional specific cable.
