8.7 Hoist Commissioning Requirements

When the Vortek NXT hoist is installed, and before use, hard travel limits, commissioning soft limits,
position offset and weight offset must be performed by an ETC trained/authorized installer.

8.7.1 Set Upper and Lower Limits

Set the upper and lower limits after the
installation procedure is complete and you have
verified the proper movement of the hoist. This
is done using the limit switch adjustment screws
and override buttons at the rear of the hoist.
Operation
Do not move load into people or other obstacles (such as scenery). Machinery
must only be operated from a line-of-sight position. The entire load must be
visible by the operator at all times during travel.
The up and down buttons are momentary (also known as a "hold-to-run button" or
"dead man button"). Therefore, if you stop pressing either up or down button, the
hoist will stop moving until the button is pressed again. If both the up and down
buttons are pressed and held at once, the hoists will stop.
