Adjusting the Damping Factor

The variable damping factor enables you to adjust the sound of the
159 to your preferences. Changing the damping factor affects the
bass response of the 159 in particular. The higher the damping, the
more precisely your speakers will be controlled by the amplifier.
Take the time to find the setting that works best with your speakers. You can switch
between your chosen value and the fixed maximum damping factor of 4,006 at
any time from the control panel
DAMPING FACTOR DISPLAY
You can check the configured value on the damping factor display (14) on the
control panel:
— The power amplifier's damping factor is indicated by a green LED.
— If multiple power amplifiers are connected via BurSync and their configured
values differ, these values are indicated by one or more orange LEDs, as
necessary. This enables you to check if all power amplifiers are set to
the same value by looking at the control panel of any power amplifier.
