8.4 Serial Port Settings
Purpose:
Two types of serial ports are provided: RS-232 and RS-485.
The RS-232 port can be used in two ways:
Parameters Configuration: Connect a PC to the DVR through the PC serial port. DVR parameters can be configured
by using software such as HyperTerminal. The serial port parameters must be the same as of the device when
connecting with the PC serial port.
Transparent Channel: Connect a serial device directly to the device. The serial device will be controlled remotely by
the PC through the network and the protocol of the serial device.
The RS-485 port is used for the communication with the connected external device.
Steps:
1.
Enter the Serial Port Settings interface to configure the parameters.
Menu>Basic Settings>SerialPort
2.
Select serial port type and configure the parameters, including baud rate, parity and usage.
3.
Click OK to save the settings and exit.
8.5 Backup
Before you start:
Connect a USB or eSATA backup device to the mobile NVR.
Purpose:
The video files recorded on the local mobile NVR can be automatically exported to the connected USB or eSATA device for
backup.
Steps:
1.
Enter the Backup Settings interface.
