3. Steps from Home
Enter a number using the numeric keypad and press
the GO key. The stepper motor will move the platen
the selected number of steps from Home. Press the
HOME key to return the platen to the Home position.
This function is used to verify that the stepper motor
is working properly.
Note: The maximum number of steps is 2,157.
4. STANDBY and RAISE Buttons
When the STANDBY or RAISE buttons are pressed,

the control will display an "X" next to either "Standby
is Pressed" or "Raise is Pressed", if the control
successfully reads the button press. This function is
used to verify that the buttons are working properly
and communicating with the motor control board.
5. Clam Down Switch
When the platen is in the down position, the control
will display an "X" next to it if the control successfully
reads it.
UPDATE FIRMWARE
This option is used to load software into the control. See
the "Software Installation" Section starting on page 2-15
of this manual for complete software installation
instructions.
SERVICE CONTACT Information Key
This option is used to edit the service contact information
(name, e-mail, and phone number).
USER MANUAL BITMAPS
This option is for future development. It will be used to
upload user-help screens for operating procedures (such
as cleaning).
UPPER PLATEN ENABLED/DISABLED
This option enables or disables the upper platen.
Pressing the key toggles between the two options.
Note: If the upper platen is disabled, flat items can still
be cooked in that zone.

AUTO CLOSE
This option enables or disables the upper platen closing
feature.
If the closing feature is enabled, the STANDBY button
can be used to lower the upper platen.
If the closing feature is disabled, the STANDBY button
cannot be used to lower the upper platen. The platen
must be lowered manually.
EVENT LOG
This option will record the last 50 events the grill has
experienced. Use the Up and Down arrow keys to toggle
through the event history.
The history can be downloaded to a USB drive. The file
name is limited to eight characters. Press the OK key to
save the Event Log history. Press the EXIT key to return
to the previous screen.
SET TIME
This option allows the technician to set the date and time.
After the date and time have been entered, press the
ENTER key to accept the changes.
SHOW MODE ENABLED/DISABLED
This option allows the grill to be fully functional without
having to heat up for demonstration purposes.
Show Mode Enabled: The heaters are disabled, but the
rest of the grill is fully functional.
Show Mode Disabled: The heaters are enabled, and the
grill will operate normally.
