Instructions for Installing the SFU ONT

A typical ONT installation with UPS is shown in Figure 6.
Customer provided premises
wiring including CAT5 or
higher Ethernet cable and
POTS twisted pair to be
terminated in the ONT by
technician
Riser conduit for
fiber drop cable
6 AWG ground wire
installed from the ONT
to the established MGN
Installations may vary from this diagram depending on the manner in which the Customer
Premises Equipment (CPE) wiring is installed, the location of the AC outlet used to power the
ONT local power supply, whether or not a communications distribution panel was provided,
and the proximity of the external ends of the CPE wiring to the subscriber's electrical service
point.
