•
in the exceptional c c ase where it may
become necessary to use a child seat in
the passenger seat, where the child is fac-
ing backwards.
•
if it is not possible to keep a minimum
distance of 25 cm between the center of
the steering wheel and the breastbone
even though the driver's seat is in the cor-
rect position.
•
if handicapped people need special
equipment in the steering wheel area.
•
if special seats are fitted (i.e. orthope-
dic seats without side Air Bags).

about which Air Bags may be deactivated
in your vehicle.
If you yourself disconnect the passenger
Air Bag using the key l l ock s s witch
lowing page), an "AIR B B AG O O FF" warning
light will constantly remind you that the
Air Bag is deactivated.

In the exceptional case where it may
become necessary to use a child seat in
the passenger seat, where the child is fac-
ing backwards, it is essential to deacti-
vate the passenger Air Bag.
We still recommend the installation of the
child seat uniquely o o n t t he r r ear p p assen-
ger s s eat, and to avoid the need to deac-
tivate the passenger Air Bag.
If u u se o o f t t he c c hild s s eat h h as c c eased,
the p p assenger A A ir B B ag m m ust b b e r r econ-
nected.
Before t t he u u se o o f c c hild s s eats, p p lease
read c c arefully t t he s s ection o o n " " Safety
for c c hildren".
