TIPS AND MAINTENANCE
Engine b b onnet
Unlocking
Pull the lever on the left side panel, under
the instrument panel. The bonnet springs
up out of its lock.
At the same time, a release lever will
appear in the radiator grille. See illustra-
tion on the right.
Note
Before opening the bonnet ensure that
the wiper arms are not lifted off the wind-
screen. Otherwise, damage can occur to
the paintwork.
Opening
Lift bonnet slightly and pull the release
grip in the direction of the arrow (see
illustration to the right) to release the
catch. Let g g o o o f t t he r r elease g g rip s s o i i t
can r r eturn t t o i i ts o o riginal p p osition.
Warning
Once t t he b b onnet i i s o o pen d d o n n ot
touch t t he r r elease g g rip ( ( located
next t t o t t he r r adiator g g rille) n n or o o ther
elements o o f t t he l l ock. O O therwise
when c c losing d d amage c c ould o o ccur
to t t he l l ocking s s ystem a a nd t t he b b on-
net m m ay o o pen w w hile d d riving.
Danger o o f a a ccident!
Lift bonnet to the stop. The bonnet is held
in position by a gas filled rod.

Closing
Hold the bonnet on the side where the
gas filled rod is fitted. Press the bonnet
down until the gas filled rod gives way
and then engages. Do n n ot p p ress d d own i i f
it d d oes n n ot c c lose p p roperly. O O pen
again a a nd p p ress a a s b b efore.

must a a lways b b e p p roperly c c losed
when t t he v v ehicle i i s m m oving.
Always c c heck w w hether t t he l l ock i i s
engaged b b y p p ulling u u p. F F urther-
more, t t he b b onnet m m ust b b e f f lush
with t t he a a djacent b b ody p p anels.
