Time Synchronization

You can use the Time synchronization tab in the System control dialog to set the type of
synchronization for your SIMEAS R-PMU.
Figure 12-10 Time synchronization tab
Select the type of time synchronization of the device from the drop-down menu of the Time
synchronization box.
Note
When you change the synchronization signal, you have to modify the parameterization accord-
ing to the new synchronization type. Sending the device parameters will cause a device restart
automatically.
Select the time zone that the SIMEAS R-PMU is to be assigned to under Time Zone Name.
You can only meet the required TVE (Total Vector Error) if you consider the run time of all
signals. To do so, you can enter the External Sync Pulse Time Delay in µ seconds. The
External Sync Pulse Time Delay describes the total sum of signal delays caused by the use
of, e. g., a synchronization transceiver for the transmission of the DCF77 time signal.
Note
You will find information on the delay times of the synchronization components recommended
by Siemens in the Application Description "Time Synchronization SIMEAS R/SIMEAS R-PMU",
order number E50417-X1074-C403, under www.simeas.com.
Additional information on the accessories recommended by Siemens is also given on the
internet under the address www.simeas.com.
