5.5.1 Connectivity Problems

• Check for LED abnormalities.
• Check port status using LCM.
• Check for loose port connections.
• Check to see if the number of carrier losses is increasing using
LCM. This indicates that the connection is suspect.
• Check to see if the number of total collisions has dramatically
increased using LCM.

5.5.2 ELS100-16TX Has Rebooted

• Use the LCM
diagnostic codes. Write down these codes exactly as they appear
and call your authorized Cabletron Systems representative.

5.5.3 ELS100-16TX Does Not Respond to NMS

• Check the port status using LCM.
• Check to see if the Spanning Tree topology is stable using LCM.
• Check that a pathway to the ELS100-16TX exists.
• Verify the ELS100-16TX IP address using LCM.
