HIGH-VOLTAGE TESTS
Application
High-voltage tests are available when the tester type is set to Series 90HV. The high-voltage
tests are performed on the high-voltage circuits after the low voltage tests are run. Some of the
high voltage tests require a shorting bar to be installed and other tests require a resistor bank to
be installed. Message windows open to indicate when the shorting bar or resistor bank is to be
installed or removed. It is safe to make these changes to the system while it is paused with the
message window opened; however, when the system is running, there will be times that 1500
vdc will be applied to the test points.
Test Descriptions
There are 9 separate tests for the high-voltage circuits. During diagnostic testing, the results of
each test are displayed in the Test Results window.
Enable
Enable is used to turn on or off the high voltage tests without requiring each test to be
unchecked. Enable can be unchecked while running only the low-voltage tests on a high
voltage system.
High-Voltage Gen
High-Voltage Generator verifies the output voltage and the speed of the high-voltage
generator. It measures the read back voltage and the ramp-up time.
High Voltage Dis
High Voltage Discharge verifies that the high-voltage discharge circuit is functional. It
measures the time required to reach the discharge level from the charge level.
High Current Select
High Current Select verifies the operation of the high-current-select relay and makes a pretest
of the high-current generator.
Scanner Relay
Scanner Relay verifies the operation and resistance of the scanner board relays using both
low-current and high current sources. This test requires all points within the test range to be
shorted together.
High Voltage Select
High Voltage Select verifies the operation of the high-voltage-select relay. This test requires
a shorting bar to be installed.
High Current Gen
High Current Generator verifies the operation of the high-current generator. This test requires
a shorting bar to be installed.
