RIBBON MENU
The TestRite ribbon menu contains two tabs for setting up how the test is run, what tests to run,
and running the test. As in other Windows applications, controls for commands that do not
apply to the situation or to the type of tester at the time are grayed out and cannot be selected.
TestRite ribbon menu commands are as follows:
Home Tab
After starting TestDiag, the Home tab is selected by default. This tab contains the most
commonly used commands for performing self-diagnostics and calibration. These commands
are described below.
Self Diagnostics Group
Self Diagnostics group contains controls for starting and stopping self-diagnostic tests and
entering the Probe Search mode.
Diagnose System
Diagnose System command initiates the test according to the selections checked. If a high-
voltage tester is connected, make sure all hands are clear of tester before clicking this button. A
Diagnose System button is also provided in the Quick Access Tool Bar.
Loop Diagnostic Tests
Loop Diagnostic Tests button is accessible by pressing the down arrow, located below the
Diagnose System button. This button is used to place the system in a continuous diagnostic test
mode. The diagnostic test is stopped (aborted) by clicking the Reset button in this group.
Probe
Probe command is used to locate points on the tester. Probe can be used as a troubleshooting aid
to identify points during trouble shooting.
Reset
Reset command is used to terminate the operation currently in progress. It also is used to re-
establish communication between the PC and the tester. This command typically is used after
power has been turned off and then back on, thereby interrupting communication between
TestDiag and the tester. A Reset button is also provided in the Quick Access Tool Bar.
