If You Suspect a Chimney Fire
Signs of a chimney fire may be one or more of the following:
1.
A roaring sound
2. Vibration of the chimney
3. Flames and sparks shooting out of the top of the chimney
In Case of a Chimney Fire
1.
Immediately close the air inlets on the stove.
2. Evacuate the home, and call the local fire department.
3. After the chimney fire has been extinguished, the chimney must be cleaned and
checked for stress and cracking before starting another fire. Also check combustibles
around the chimney and roof.
