24) Drive Belt Guard

Drive Belt Guard Removal
WARNING
NEVER operate engine:
– Without shields and belt guard
securely installed.
– With hood and/or side panels
opened or removed.
NEVER attempt to make adjust-
ments to moving parts while en-
gine is running.
NOTE: Drive belt guard is purposely
made slightly oversize to maintain ten-
sion on its pins and retainers prevent-
ing undue noise and vibration. It is im-
portant that this tension be maintained
when reinstalling.
Remove the tether cord cap from en-
gine cut-off switch.
Open the lower LH side panel. See
procedure in this section.
Remove retaining pin.

Lift rear portion of drive belt guard then
release from front tabs.
Drive Belt Guard Installation
Insert the tab into the slot and push it
into place

2. Front support slot
Push drive belt guard toward engine
then toward front of vehicle.

Position the rear portion of the belt
guard over the retainer and secure it
using the retaining pin.

25) Hood

WARNING
Never operate engine with hood
removed from vehicle.
