Release the nuts (1) and take them

off the screws (2).
Hold the cutting attachment (3)

securely.
Take the screws out of the

guide (4), cutting attachment (3)
and forkhead (4).
Remove the cutting attachment
N
from the forkhead (4).
Fit the nuts and screws on the
N
cutting attachment to ensure they
are not mislaid during sharpening.
Inspecting the Cutting Attachment
Important sharpening instructions and
wear data (e.g. the sharpening template)
are printed on the cutting attachment's
packaging – for this reason you should
keep the packaging in a safe place.

Check the cutting attachment

regularly for damage (nicks or
cracks) and wear.

WARNING
To reduce the risk of injury, do not

continue using, a damaged, broken,
warped or worn cutting attachment (e.g.
cracks in area of cutting edge) and do
not attempt to sharpen, straighten or
weld such a cutting attachment – replace
it immediately.

NOTICE
Working with a dull or damaged cutting
2
attachment requires more physical
effort, exposes the user to higher
vibration levels, produces unsatisfactory
cutting results and increases wear.

To check wear, place the removed

cutting attachment on the
sharpening template (1) on the back
of the cutting attachment's
packaging.
Check the wear characteristics (1)

as indicated on the packaging – see
also "Wear limits" below.

Draw an imaginary line across the

centers of the two holes – to
determine the measuring points for
thickness (B) and (C).
Area (A): Cutting edge may be ground
back no more than the area marked (A).
Thickness (B): Sickle thickness must be
at least B = 4.4 mm (0.173 in).
