S e t t i n g t h e P r i n t C o n t r a s t
The contrast controls the darkness of the printing. Having the correct print contrast
setting is important because it affects how well your bar codes scan and how long your
printhead lasts. High contrast settings may require additional printhead cleaning, create
bar code growth, and/or lead to reduced scanning.
Solid black print cannot exceed 30% of any given square inch of the supply.
Select
To
Decrease the contrast. Lightens the print.
Increase the setting. Darkens the print.
Press 1 to toggle the amount (1, 10, or 100).
We recommend you check the bar code print quality. A bar code that is in spec has
complete bars, clear spaces, and small alphanumeric characters look complete. An in
spec bar code may not look as good as one that is too dark, but it has the highest scan
rate.
